ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO BRING WITH YOU
We recommend you bring with you the following items of clothing and equipment to help make your stay or day trip with us as comfortable as possible. The weather on the West Coast proves to be completely unpredictable so be prepared for everything from hail to blazing sun!
- Old warm clothing (preferably not denim trousers but tracksuits etc.)
- Rain Jacket & Trousers (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Heavy padded jacket if Clay Pigeon shooting
- Old Runners and/or walking boots that you don’t mind getting wet
- Swimwear for underneath wet suits for water based activities
- Towel
- Complete change of clothes and spare shoes for evening wear.
- Woolly Hat
NB: Insect Repellent (to keep away the annoying midges April – Oct).
You will not have an enjoyable visit if you do not bring Insect Repellent!
Only mobile phones on the 087 network will work in the Leenane area. There is no reception for the 086 and 085 mobile phones. It may be a good idea to bring a prepaid phone card for using on the pay phone in reception.
It is advisable to leave all valuables at home as Killary takes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. As we have a lot of people who leave clothing behind at the centre, this is discarded the following day or passed onto the charity shop if usable, so make sure you check that you have everything with you before you leave the activity site or the centre. We advise people not to take valuables with them on activities and suggest that you leave any valuables at the reception desk.
All wet suits are provided, as are buoyancy aids & helmets. There are changing and shower facilities here at Killary Adventure Co.
